Hops production in Germany increased significantly last year.
Bonn, 19.08.2025
Thanks to relatively favorable weather, German farmers harvested significantly more hops last year than before. The harvest increased by 13% compared to the previous year to 46,536 tons, the Federal Information Centre for Agriculture (BZL) announced on Monday. Compared to 2022, the harvest increased by as much as 35%. TASR reports this based on information from the DPA agency. Industry experts warn that the greater supply of hops will not lead to a decrease in beer prices, as other costs have risen. The largest hop-growing area in the world is located in the Hallertau region of Bavaria. This year's harvest is expected to start at the end of August. Only one percent of the hop harvest is used for medicine production, while the rest is used for beer production.odkaz na stránku
