In Slovakia, the population decline continued, primarily influenced by the decreasing number of live births. As of June 30, the Slovak Republic had a total of 5,413,813 inhabitants, which was 8,471 fewer than the previous year. The proportion of women was 51.08 percent. TASR was informed of this by Gabriela Haas from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (Ú SR).In the second quarter of 2025, 10,036 live children were born in Slovakia, which is 1,355 fewer than in the same period the previous year. At the same time, 12,675 people died during the period, which is 320 more than in the same period last year. The natural population decline thus amounted to 2,639 people, which deepened by 1,675 people compared to the previous year.Through foreign migration, Slovakia gained a total of 455 persons in the second quarter of 2025, which is 126 fewer than in the same period last year.The total population decline in Slovakia by the end of the second quarter was 2,184 people, deepening by 1,801 people compared to the second quarter of 2024.odkaz na stránku |
