The minimum wage in Poland has increased by almost 175% in 12 years
Warsaw, 10.06.2026
The minimum wage in Poland has increased by almost 175% over the past 12 years, the PAP news agency reported on Tuesday. According to the Polish Ministry of Labor, more than 17% of the total number of employed people received the minimum wage last year. In 2015, the monthly minimum wage in Poland was PLN 1,750 (EUR 412.51). This year, it is PLN 4,806 (EUR 1,132.88). It has increased by 174.6% over 12 years. On the other hand, inflation over the period, which amounted to 62%, has eroded part of the increase in purchasing power. The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy stated in this regard that approximately three million Poles received the minimum wage in 2025, while a total of approximately 17.2 million people are employed in the country. The government is obliged to submit its proposal regarding the minimum wage for the next year to the Social Dialogue Council, which, in addition to the government, consists of representatives of employers and employees, by 15 June. For 2027, the government proposes to increase the minimum wage to PLN 4,986. This would be an increase of 3.7% from this year's level. The minimum hourly wage should increase by PLN 1.20, or 3.8%, to PLN 32.60. (1 EUR = PLN 4.2423)
