Analysis: Almost 620 companies went bankrupt in the Czech Republic in nine months
Prag, 16.10.2026
From the beginning of this year to the end of September, almost 620 companies went bankrupt in the Czech Republic, which is the highest number for the last decade. This follows from the analysis carried out by CRIF - Czech Credit Bureau based on data from the portal www.informaceofirmach.cz. The financial portal Kurzy.cz informed about it. In nine months of the year, courts in the Czech Republic declared a total of 618 companies bankrupt. In a year-on-year comparison, this represents a growth of 7% and the highest number of corporate bankruptcies in three quarters since 2016. During the mentioned period, the courts accepted 986 proposals for the bankruptcy of commercial companies. Compared to the same period last year, this means growth of 19%. "The number of bankruptcies in three quarters showed growth for the third year in a row. Despite the fact that the year-on-year dynamics were somewhat slower than last year, the total number of bankruptcies was the highest since 2016, in which 60 more were declared by the courts," said Věra Kameníčková, an analyst at CRIF - Czech Credit Bureau. From January to the end of September, the most commercial companies went bankrupt in Prague, namely 284. The capital accounted for 46% of the number of bankruptcies in the entire Czech Republic. The South Moravian Region (72) and the Moravian-Silesian Region followed with 61 corporate bankruptcies. The fewest bankruptcies occurred in the Vysočina region, where five companies went bankrupt in the given period. odkaz na stránku
