Guinness has called in the special effects wizard behind The X Files to help create a TV ad featuring hundreds of fridges flying through the streets.
The TV campaign, which launches in Ireland tonight ahead of an international rollout, offers a fresh twist on the concept of the "fridge magnet".
Guinness's 60-second ad features bemused people looking on as an invisible force drags refrigerators down the street.
The source of the mysterious attraction is revealed to be a delivery truck filled with cans of Guinness.
Thanks to special effects by Kelly Kerby, who once worked on The X Files, hundreds of fridges are shown flying through the air to cover the delivery truck.
The ad, which is soundtracked by Myredcell's track Dedication, ends with the strapline "It's alive inside".
It was filmed in Argentina like last year's domino-effect "Tipping Point" ad for the brand.
Mal Stevenson, a creative director at ad agency Irish International BBDO, said that more than 200 Buenos Aires residents were involved in the making of the TV ad.
Frederick Bond, the man behind commercials such as Carling's "Space", directed the clip.
"This is one of the biggest campaigns to date for the Guinness can," said the Guinness senior marketing manager, Grainne Wafer. "It communicates in a really fun way that chilled Guinness is simply irresistible."odkaz na stránku
