Russia to maintain energy supplies to Hungary despite sanctions
Budapest/Moscow, 03.12.2024
Russia wants to maintain energy supplies of oil, natural gas and nuclear fuel to Hungary despite new sanctions. According to the MTI agency, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced this on Monday in Moscow after a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, responsible for energy affairs. This is reported by the TASR correspondent in Budapest. Szijjártó added that if this intention is shared, a solution will certainly be found. After consulting with Novak and the heads of several large energy companies, the head of Hungarian diplomacy pointed out that energy resources from Russia play a very important role in Hungary's energy security."We have no intention of giving up this good cooperation. Not least because no one has made us a better offer. We are not aware of safer and more competitive energy sources," Szijjártó added. In this regard, he noted that by including the Russian bank Gazprombank on the sanctions list, the United States is trying to put the countries of Central and Southeastern Europe that use Russian energy resources in a difficult situation, because payments are made through this financial institution.odkaz na stránku
