Administration when employing contract workers |
Bratislava, 17.12.2024 |

Starting next year, Slovakia will change the rules for employing contract workers. The aim is to simplify the entire process of employing contract workers and eliminate the administrative burden. A change in the rules for employing contract workers is also being prepared in the neighboring Czech Republic, said Marie Pomykalová from Bibby Financial Services. One of the sectors that had a relatively large number of seasonal workers is gastronomy and tourism. Companies have been struggling with a shortage of workers since the pandemic. "Many companies have not yet recovered from the outflow of labor due to uncertainty. Gastronomy and tourism workers now prefer stable jobs. Without stronger support for these sectors from the government, they will hardly be able to restore growth. Especially in a situation where energy and costs have become more expensive in connection with the war in Ukraine," Pomykalová specified. The employment of people in restaurants and other seasonal catering establishments should be made easier by an amendment to the Health Protection Act from January next year, which abolished the obligation for employees to obtain a certificate of professional competence for working with food. Now, this obligation is transferred to operators, who will have to ensure that at least one person in the establishment is qualified. This step should help fill 5,000 to 10,000 vacant jobs in restaurants and hotels, especially during the tourist season.odkaz na stránku |
