Russian businesses started to use in Bitcoin payments
Moscow, 27.12.2024
Russian companies started to use Bitcoins and other digital currencies as part of foreign payments. They have obtained this possibility as a result of a change in legislation aimed at combating Western sanctions. This week, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said this. Reuters informed about it. The sanctions of the Western states, which gradually imposed on Russia after attacks on Ukraine in 2022, complicate the country of key partners such as China and Turkey. The banks there are very careful for sanctions in transactions on Russian companies. Russia has therefore allowed the use of cryptocurrencies in foreign trade this year and has taken steps that legalize their mining, including Bitcoin. Russia is one of the world leaders in the extraction of this cryptocurrency."Within the trial regime, it is possible to use bitcoins that we have used here in Russia (in foreign trade transactions)," Silaanov told the TV Station Russia 24. "Such transactions are already being carried out. We think they should be expanded and developed," he added, convinced that this will happen next year. At the same time, he stated that international payments in digital currencies are the future.odkaz na stránku
