The biggest risk to financial markets is inflationary pressures in the US |
Davos, 24.01.2025 |

The biggest risk to global financial markets this year is inflationary pressures in the US. Nicolai Tangen, head of Norway's sovereign wealth fund, said this at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. Reuters reported.
Asked by the media where the biggest risks to financial markets in 2025 were, Tangen said: "Inflationary pressures due to what is happening in the US right now." The head of the world's largest sovereign wealth fund, worth $1.8 trillion (1.72 trillion euros), sees another risk as the level of global government debt.
"It's about whether you get to a point where investors assess that the government debts of individual countries are already too high and will demand much higher interest rates from governments," he said at the Reuters NEXT Newsmaker conference at the WEF.
The fund, which invests Norway's oil and gas export revenues, holds stakes in nearly 9,000 companies in more than 70 countries. It was founded in 1990 and aims to keep Norway's social security system solvent even if energy export revenues decline.odkaz na stránku |
