The intention of a metal crushing line near Trnava will not be assessed in the EIA process
Trnava, 04.03.2025
The investment plan for the construction of a metal waste crushing line in an industrial area near Trnava in the cadastral territory of the municipality of Hrnčiarovce nad Parnou will not be assessed under the Environmental Impact Assessment Act (EIA). This follows from the decision of the Environmental Care Department of the Trnava District Office published on the enviroportal. "For the above activity, it is possible to request a permit from the relevant licensing authority under special regulations," the office states in the decision, which has already entered into force. However, it has set several conditions for the investor, the company Zberné suroviny Žilina, to eliminate or mitigate the negative impacts of the proposed activity on the environment. The plan envisages the construction of a waste collection and recovery facility in the zone of other industrial enterprises between the railway line and the industrial railway siding. The capacity of the facility for the collection of other waste is to be 150,000 tons per year. The waste recovery facility is also to have the same capacity. The capacity for hazardous waste collection is intended to be 5,000 tons per year. The investor also plans to implement the collection of old vehicles, which would be carried out on an outdoor paved area in a container designated for the collection of this type of waste. "The main goal of waste collection and processing is to prevent the undesirable emergence of illegal waste dumps, and thus prevent uncontrolled environmental pollution by pollutants," the investor states in the submitted plan. The total estimated investment costs are 12 million euros. The number of employees in the facility is estimated at ten. The drainage of sewage generated in the intended operation is proposed through a newly built area sewage system. Rainwater within the paved areas could be purified through an oil separator. The area is located outside the residential zone, the nearest permanently inhabited buildings are approximately 900 meters away as the crow flies. odkaz na stránku
