2.75 billion Slovak crowns remain in circulation
Bratislava, 12.03.2025
Even though we have been paying with euros in Slovakia for longer than we have been using Slovak crowns, part of the original currency has still not returned from circulation to the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS). The central bank pointed out this on Tuesday. "In 2024, 20,798 pieces of Slovak banknotes were exchanged in the NBS cash offices with a total value of 13.37 million SKK (443,700 euros). Despite this, at the end of 2024, 2.75 billion SKK remained in circulation, which corresponds to approximately 91.44 million euros," the national bank calculated. She reminded that if a person finds forgotten Slovak crowns, they can still be exchanged for euros at the NBS. "Slovak banknotes can be exchanged at the NBS cash offices without a time limit, but the exchange does not apply to coins that can no longer be exchanged," she added.odkaz na stránku
