Tax collection increased by a quarter year-on-year in the first two months
Bratislava, 14.03.2025
The Financial Administration (FA) collected 672 million euros, or 24.5% more, in the first two months of this year than in the same period last year. This was announced on Thursday by the institution's spokesman Daniel Súkup. "The implementation of the state budget from a tax perspective is a key aspect of the country's financial stability and sustainable development. In this context, the financial administration plays a decisive role, ensuring the correct collection and distribution of taxes," the spokesman assessed. In January and February, the FA collected a total of 3.4 billion euros in taxes. According to Súkup, the higher collection compared to last year by 672 million euros can be attributed mainly to the higher collection of value added tax (VAT). He recalled that last year, tax collection was more than 911 million euros higher than in 2023. "The financial administration continues to focus on the efficient management of tax revenues, which is essential for securing funds for public services, infrastructure projects and social spending," the spokesman added. odkaz na stránku
