Hungary and Serbia plan to start construction of an oil pipeline between the countries
Belgrad, 03.04.2025
Hungary and Serbia plan to start construction of an oil pipeline between the two countries at the turn of this year and next, Hungarian Foreign and Trade Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Wednesday after a meeting with Serbian Energy Minister Dubravka Djedoviè-Handanoviĉ in Belgrade. TASR reported on this based on a report by the TASS agency. Hungarian energy company MOL presented the feasibility study of the project to the governments of both countries on Wednesday, Szijjártó said. In recent weeks, the parties involved have taken important steps necessary for the construction of the oil pipeline, including land-use planning, he said. “Construction can therefore start at the turn of this year and next, which will lead to the creation of a new oil pipeline between the two countries, which will be fully operational by 2028,” the Hungarian minister added. The oil will flow through Hungary to Serbia via the Russian Druzhba pipeline, facilitating oil supplies to Central Europe via its southern branch, Szijjártó explained. odkaz na stránku
