| Polish President Nawrocki introduces the Presidential Business Council |
| Varšava, 26.03.2026 |
 |
| Polish President Karol Nawrocki on Wednesday appointed a Presidential Business Council and called for closer cooperation between the state and companies in order to overcome the so-called middle-income trap. This is reported by the Warsaw correspondent of TASR.
The president stressed that Poland's economic success over the past decades is the result of the work of employees and the decisions of entrepreneurs. "Polish economic success over the past more than 35 years is an objective fact," he said.
He pointed out that Poland has achieved approximately 78 percent of the average gross domestic product per capita within the European Union, but it still lags behind advanced economies. "Today, as a state, we find ourselves in what economists call the middle-income trap," the president stated.
Nawrocki also said that Poland has received an invitation to the G20 summit, which he described as a significant international success. He added that the goal is to secure the country's permanent membership in this group.
The President called on entrepreneurs to engage in the legislative process and draw attention to measures that could negatively affect the business environment. He stressed that he is ready to support solutions that are favorable to the economy.
He listed the support of strategic investments, the development of infrastructure, including the CPK central transport hub project, and strengthening the resilience of supply chains as priorities of his policy.
Nawrocki also pointed out the importance of the Three Seas Initiative and the potential for cooperation in the Central and Eastern European region. In the field of energy, he emphasized the need to combine nuclear energy, renewable sources and coal as a stabilizing element.
At the same time, the President highlighted the importance of technological development and called for investments in innovations, which, according to him, will determine the country's position in the coming decades.
