Breweries in Germany reported price increases |
Düsseldorf, 12.06.2025 |
 |
Beer in Germany could soon become more expensive, with both bottled and draft beer prices expected to rise. Two of the country's largest breweries have announced plans to raise prices, which will affect supermarkets and the hospitality sector. TASR reports this based on a DPA report.
Krombacher and Veltins, Germany's best-selling beer brands, have announced plans to raise prices in October. This will initially affect large buyers, but will gradually be passed on to end customers in shops and bars.
Neither company has yet released exact figures, but analysts estimate that a standard crate of 20 half-liter bottles of beer could be about 1 euro more expensive.
Both companies last raised prices in 2023. Veltins said the new increase is necessary to maintain investment in both the retail and hospitality sectors amid rising costs.
It is not yet clear whether other large breweries will follow suit, nor whether supermarket chains will absorb some of the additional costs or pass them on to consumers.odkaz na stránku |
