Indian Prime Minister Modi arrives in Slovakia
Bratislava, 15.06.2026
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Slovakia and was welcomed at the airport by Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár (Smer-SD). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this on its Facebook page. As part of the one-day program, the Indian Prime Minister will meet with Slovak President Peter Pellegrini and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. The dominant topic of the talks will be the development of bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation in several areas. "This evening, I welcomed the Prime Minister of the world's most populous country, Narendra Modi, in Bratislava, who is beginning the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to the Slovak Republic since the establishment of our independent statehood," said Juraj Blanár. He added that this is a historical and strategic moment that confirms that Slovak-Indian relations are intensifying and bringing results for both countries and both nations, both at the political and trade levels. "During my first business trip to India in 2024, our mutual trade reached 870,000 euros per year, and today it is at the level of 1.6 billion euros," stated Blanár. odkaz na stránku
