| Sereď is losing a piece of its history. |

| Just last year, Hubert J.E. celebrated an incredible 200 years since its founding. However, the leading sparkling wine producer based in Sereď has announced shocking news that likely no one expected.
Hubert J.E. plans to cease production at its Sereď plant by the end of the year.
Sparkling wine production will subsequently continue at the BOHEMIA SEKT Group’s sister facilities in Starý Plzenec and Mikulov. However, Hubert brand products will not disappear from the Slovak market.
The decision to end production followed an analysis of the plant's operations. Despite investments, the Sereď facility failed to utilize production capacity to a level that would make manufacturing economically sustainable in the long term.
The closure will gradually affect approximately 60 employees. Some may be offered positions at other plants within the group. The company intends to prepare an above-standard compensation package for the affected workers, taking into account factors such as their length of service and future job market prospects.
For many residents of Sereď, Hubert is not merely the name of a well-known brand, but a part of our town's history and life. We are saddened by this, especially for the sake of the people who spent part of their working lives at Hubert.
