Slovenská pošta described the information regarding executive salaries as inaccurate.
Bratislava, 30.09.2026
Slovak Post has objected to the interpretation of its managers' salaries, details of which were released last weekend by the opposition KDH party. According to the postal service, KDH incorrectly claimed that some employees received additional bonuses on top of their average salaries. However, this is not the case, as all types of bonuses were already included in the calculation of average monthly earnings, the postal service emphasized in a statement on Tuesday. "The question remains whether this was a deliberate misrepresentation or a misunderstanding of the remuneration system. In any case, the public received incorrect information, a fact that Slovak Post deeply regrets," the company stated. KDH claimed it had requested data on the salaries and bonuses of top management in July, after Slovak Post employees approached the party with concerns regarding working conditions, staffing levels, and remuneration. The party also filed a complaint with the National Labour Inspectorate. The opposition movement explained that, according to the provided data, monthly earnings for board members reached as high as €13,973, with annual bonuses amounting to tens of thousands of euros paid on top of that. Based on this calculation, the combined total of monthly earnings and the annual bonus for one board member amounted to approximately €223,459. The Postal Service emphasized that the remuneration of members of the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board is governed by rules on the management and remuneration of company officials, as established by a decision of the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic. These rules also regulate the method and scope of monthly remuneration, annual bonuses, and profit-sharing arrangements for members of the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board. The company clarified that members of the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board of Slovenská pošta are entitled to regular monthly remuneration consisting of a fixed component and an economic performance component. The fixed component is calculated as a multiple of the average wage in the Slovak Republic for the preceding calendar year. The economic performance component is calculated based on the company's audited financial statements for the preceding calendar year and depends on turnover, sales profitability, and the number of employees as of December 31 of the preceding year. The monthly remuneration for members of the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board is recalculated annually following the approval of the company's annual financial statements for the preceding calendar year. The Postal Service added that a member of the Board of Directors may also be awarded an annual bonus—serving as a variable component of remuneration—the calculation of which is also precisely defined by the remuneration rules. "No member of the Board of Directors was awarded this bonus for the year 2025," the Postal Service noted. odkaz na stránku
