| Foxconn Slovakia begins recruiting new employees in Nitra |
| Nitra, 19.10.2026 |
 |
| Foxconn Slovakia is launching a recruitment drive for new employees, focusing on roles in the electrical engineering sector at its plant in Nitra. This move comes in response to growing demand for AI infrastructure solutions and new business opportunities in this field, according to Ladislav Procházka, the company’s communications manager. While the firm declined to specify the exact number of new positions, a source within the company’s management indicated that at least 300 jobs are expected to be created.
The Nitra-based company has already opened initial engineering and technical positions for specialists with a background in electrical engineering. In the next phase, the recruitment drive will expand to include roles in production and assembly. The company places a strong emphasis on professional training and skill development in high-potential areas such as robotics and smart manufacturing.
Foxconn Slovakia is part of the Hon Hai Technology Group, the world’s largest electronics manufacturer and a leading supplier of servers for artificial intelligence. The company’s production portfolio includes consumer electronics, automotive components, and various other products for the electrical engineering industry.
Earlier this year, the company laid off hundreds of employees at its Nitra plant. A mass layoff affecting 509 employees was announced in November of last year, with the first staff members receiving their termination notices in December. The mass layoff was confirmed by the Central Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family. The company began operations in the Nitra industrial park in 2007 under the trade name Sony Slovakia. In 2010, Sony formed a strategic alliance with the Taiwanese electronics giant Hon Hai Precision Industry—known by the trade name Foxconn—and sold its majority stake in the Nitra-based Sony Slovakia plant. In June 2010, the company changed its name to Foxconn Slovakia.
The Taiwanese company Foxconn achieved a 47% year-on-year increase in revenue during the third quarter of this year. The firm confirmed this in early October. For the period from July to September, it reported revenue totaling 3.03 trillion New Taiwan dollars (85.28 billion euros).
