PPA launches the second phase of direct support advance payments
Bratislava, 20.10.2026
The Agricultural Paying Agency (PPA) is launching the second phase of advance payments for direct support for the year 2026. This follows the first phase, during which advance payments totaling 260,789,276 euros were distributed. The second phase will provide support to young farmers, crop growers, and those engaged in environmentally friendly farming practices, the PPA announced. The PPA specified that support for young farmers amounts to 82.37 euros per hectare. For protein crops, the rate is 88.88 euros per hectare; for labor-intensive vegetables, it is 450 euros; and for highly labor-intensive vegetables, it is 668 euros per hectare. Growers of specific types of fruit are eligible for support of 589.72 euros per hectare. A payment of 299 euros per hectare is allocated for the conversion of waterlogged arable land into grassland, while support for permanent grasslands within the Natura 2000 network is set at 84 euros per hectare. "Our priority is to ensure that support reaches farmers as quickly as possible. We are therefore seamlessly following up on the first phase with further payments for young farmers, crop growers, and environmental measures. Behind every processed application, we see a specific farm that relies on these funds for its daily operations," stated Marek Čepko, Director General of the PPA. In the first phase, the PPA approved advance payments amounting to over 260 million euros. Under the Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS), the agency paid out advances totaling €136.48 million. For the Complementary Redistributive Income Support, the volume of advances paid reached €29.33 million. A total of €24.26 million was approved for dairy farming support, €4.08 million for sheep and goats, and €5.20 million for sugar beet cultivation. In areas with natural or other specific constraints (ANC), approved advances reached €61.43 million. "I am pleased that the Agricultural Paying Agency was able to quickly disburse advances to farmers, amounting to as much as €260 million. I realize this does not represent additional funding. However, what is crucial is that farmers receive these funds on time—precisely when they need to purchase animal feed, which is in short supply due to the drought, and ensure the continued operation of their farms," added Richard Takáč (Smer-SD), Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic. odkaz na stránku
