| The Slovak Republic is the last country in Europe without electronic auctions. |

| Slovakia is the last country in Europe that lacks a system for electronic auctions within enforcement proceedings. Seeking a remedy for this situation is the objective of an international professional conference titled "The Judicial Enforcement Officer in the Digital Age," which will take place on Wednesday, October 21, in Bratislava. This was announced on Tuesday by Stanislava Kolesárová, spokesperson for the Slovak Chamber of Enforcement Officers (SKE).
She noted that the conference will be attended by top representatives of the International Union of Judicial Officers (UIHJ), an organization that has long advocated for electronic auctions in enforcement proceedings, emphasizing their benefits for transparency and the more effective enforcement of the law.
"The introduction of electronic auctions is not a demand driven by the professional interests of enforcement officers themselves. Rather, it is primarily in the public interest. It is a highly transparent, anti-corruption tool that also serves to protect the rights of all parties involved in the proceedings," emphasized SKE President Miroslav Paller.
According to Paller, conference participants will learn about the insights and experiences of the International Union of Judicial Officers regarding the use of electronic auctions in enforcement proceedings, as well as the practical application of this tool in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, discussions will cover the use of artificial intelligence in enforcement proceedings and the digitalization of the enforcement process. "In the digital age, a judicial bailiff should be faster, more transparent, and more trustworthy. Electronic auctions represent one of the most concrete steps toward achieving this. Furthermore, new technologies should help us create a system that is more understandable, predictable, and trustworthy for all its participants," added Paller.
