| Strengthening Slovak-Canadian relations.Today Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Juraj Blanár received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to the Slovak Republic Karen Elizabeth Mollica upon her initial visit. Slovakia and Canada are strongly interested in intensifying trade-and-investment cooperation and strengthening their bilateral partnership on a political level.“Last year Slovak-Canadian relations saw a significant impetus in the form of the opening of a full-fledged Canadian Embassy in Slovakia and I can confirm that we also want to maintain regular contacts at the top level. As such I also thanked her for the important work carried out by the former Canadian Ambassador Cheryl Cruz who was the first ever head of the Canadian representation office directly in Bratislava, thanks to which we gained greater opportunities to develop our relations more intensively,” stated Minister Blanár while adding that he had also agreed with new Ambassador Mollica on the need to take advantage of the vast space for trade investments, which is a priority for the economic diplomacy within Slovak foreign policy. Canada will also take over the Presidency of the G7 group of the world's seven most developed countries in 2025, which can bring other significant opportunities.Bratislava 26 November 2024 |
